Minutes from a Planning meeting on 3/12/2020.

Planning Commission Notes:

The Lapel Planning Commission met last night in regular session, members present: Gary Shuck, Tony Hewitt, Jeff Keith, Dan Paddock, Teresa Retherford, Trefin Luker, Chris Hobbs, Jeff Graham Town Attorney, and Neil Stephenson of the MCCOG.

Election of officers was held with Shuck being voted in as President and Hewitt being voted in as Vice President.  Minutes from the February meeting were approved and the latest permits for roofing and fences were discussed.

Shelby Materials was sent a letter regarding their buffer issue currently Retherford and Randy Zentz of Shelby Materials are in talks to correct the situation.

Logan Burgess appeared before the Planning Commission to ask that the fee of $159.00 be waived for permit #2411.  Burgess is doing an Eagle Scout project at the Lapel American Legion.  Burgess will be building an area for the proper disposal of American flags that will not only serve as a place to properly dispose of older or worn flags but honor those who have served by displaying the emblems of our United States military.  The Planning Commission voted unanimously to waive the fee for the permit.

Chad Lukens brought in a plat map for the 14.3 acres east of Central Avenue.  Mr. Lukens is requesting that the land be rezoned from agricultural to R2.  Lukens was giving an application to rezone and will return with his completed paperwork.

The Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing March 26, 2020 at 6pm at the Lapel Town Hall to discuss a Special Waiver for Lot 3 of Stony Acres Minor Subdivision.

Member terms and roll offs were discussed, resolution to be presented at the next meeting outlining members and their terms.

Being no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned.
